This time Uber India has joined this section. Pradeep Parameshwaran, president of Uber India and South Asia, said in a statement: "Around 600 full-time workers are being affected in other sectors, including drivers and riders." However, due to the uncertainty about the impact of Covid-19 and when the situation would return to normal, Uber India South Asia had no choice but to cut staff.

According to Indian media outlet NDTV, Uber India's parent company Uber Technologies last week announced a 23 percent layoff to stay in a lucrative position.
