MediaTek introduced new Processor 'Dimensity 800U' with 5g Capabilities |
Today the Taiwanese company announced another new chipset called the Dimensity 800U, which will provide 5G capability in midrange smartphones. This new nanometer based chipset is now going to be a new member of the 5G Dimensity family. By the way, this family already has members like Dimensity 720, Dimensity 800, Dimensity 820, Dimensity 1000+, and Dimensity 1000. Let's find out more about the MediaTek Dimension 800U processor.
First of all, the Dimensity 800U is an octa-core chipset. It has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. ARM's Mali-G57 GPU support for graphics. Manufacturer MediaTek claims that the new 800U chipset is capable of delivering 11% and 28% faster CPU and GPU performance, respectively, compared to the Dimension 720 chipset released last month.
Among other features, the Dimensity 800U chipset will support 5G + 5G dual SIM dual standby, dual VoNR (Voice over New Radio), Sub-6 GHz NSA / SA network, and two 5G carrier upgrades (2CC 5G-CA). In addition, it has MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology to further enhance the battery life of the mobile, which manages the modem-base network environment and data transmission quality.
The Dimensity 800U processor will support a 64-megapixel image sensor and four more rear-facing cameras. This chipset device can have LPDDR 4X RAM (up to 2133 MHz) and UFS 2.2 storage. It supports full HD + display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. For enhanced visual experience, it has HDR 10+ support. MediaTek's MiraVision PQ engine with HDR optimization will also provide a different experience while watching different types of videos. Other features of the Dimensity 800U include various voice assistants, dual-mic noise reduction, and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
