Facebook limits forwarding on Messenger to fight Fake News

Facebook Messenger Users Cannot Forwarded Messeage to More than 5 Users or Group: Social media platforms are taking various steps to prevent the spread of fake news. This is exactly the reason why Facebook is going to bring new restrictions. The social media giant is already coming up with new guidelines to prevent chaos on its platform. Facebook is also set to set a new limit for Messenger users, allowing users to forward a message to only five other users or groups of five at a time.

The issue of setting the new limit first came to the fore in March. It has been in testing for some time, now it is being rolled out to all users in phases. From now on, if any Facebook Messenger user wants to share a message with more than 5 users, a notification will be displayed immediately - "Forwarding limit reached."

In a blog post, J. Sullivan, director of product management at Messenger Privacy and Security, said the new forwarding limit would reduce the spread of misinformation and malicious content.

A couple of years ago, similar limits were set in the case of WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook. Even these types of WhatsApp messages have the label "forwarded". Now let's see how effective this limit is in Messenger. Incidentally, the app lock feature has been made available on the Messenger of iOS devices, this feature will also be seen in the case of Android applications very soon.
